No, the C in PCR tests don't refer to covid or even coronavirus.
PCR tests were not developed to specifically determine coronavirus infections, the infection doesn't even have to be virus related!! If this was a specific test for covid, the title to this test would read more like PCCR, Polymerase Covid Chain Reaction, it is not even of the case that the so-called gold standard test directly refers to coronavirus. On top of this, the tests are often tested at 35 to 40 cycles instead of the recommended test cycle of 25. The higher the cycle, the higher degree of all infections are determined which include non-infectious infections.
I do love how they often state that the PCR test is of a gold standard covid test, even though the PCR test is not a specific test to detect covid infections. I also love how they don't mention the effectiveness of PCR tests. When something as important as the rate of effectiveness is not disclosed, I would be a fool not to question the validity of this degree of misinformation. They don't even tell us that the smallest degree of impurities will, like the test being exposed to air particles, cause the tests to become impure/soiled.
However, be careful of the opposing argument, that the covid virus does not exist. From five sources independent from each other, Covid was developed to be highly infectious. Before the development of covid, up to 30% of colds and flu's were based on a coronavirus, with the new/novel human developed coronavurus, the percentage of up to 30% could be far greater now. And no people, the PCR test is not a diagnoses test kit, just a kit to determine if an infection exists. Testing at cycles above 25 will of course make this test even more flawed. A gold standard diagnoses test would be a test to directly determine that covid is present and infectious, this is not the case with the PCR test. There is a huge difference between determining infections to diagnosing infections.
The PCR test is obviously of determination testing, not diagnosis testing, especially at cycles above 25.
